Magna-Power Electronics NEMA-4X enclosure allows customers to exploy quality power conversion in all environments. The NEMA-4X enclosure is available for all PQ Series III and TS Series II models. Ranging from 3.3kW up to 45kW, our NEMA-4X enclosed power supplies are consistent with Magna-Power Electronics' unparalleled power processing. A combination of high and medium frequency power processing technologies improves response, shrinks package size, and reduces cost.

Grade 304 Stainless Steel
Magna-Power Electronics NEMA-4X enclosure is made entirely from Grade
304 stainless steel. Isolating our products from environment using a
stainless steel enclosure protects our power supplies from the elements.
NEMA enclosures meet the National Electrical Manufacturers Association
standards for performance and protection of the electrical equipment
installed within them.
NEMA is the leading trade association in the U.S. representing the interests
of electroindustry manufacturers of products used in the generation,
transmission and distribution, control, and end-use of electricity.
As rated by the NEMA-4X standard, this protection includes windblown
dust and rain, splashing water, and hose directed water; and to be undamaged
by the formation of ice on the enclosure.
Hazardous Locations
Using a NEMA-4X enclosure for our products enables reliable operation in hazardous environments. Some applications where this enclosure is used are:
Our power supplies incorporate an optically isolated feedback system.
The result is that all user interface circuitry is referenced to earth
ground -- not the negative terminal of the power supply. This enables
users to connect external circuitry without concern of ground loops
or voltage breakdown.
Water Cooling
All the NEMA-4X enclosed models are water-cooled. These power supplies
contain integrated semiconductor chillers and air to water heat exchangers
to manage cooling of heat producing components. This feature allows
the power supplies to operate in the absense of proper air flow. These
units provide long life in plating facilities, electrodionization treatment
plants, shipboard, and other corrosive environments. Water cooling also
permits power supplies to be stacked in high density equipment racks
where air cooling is not possible or desireable.
